Case Overview

The patient underwent a coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) procedure. Post operatively she had a complication of a perforated transverse colon. The defense’s goal was to show the basic anatomical structures during the open heart procedure and how the surgeons were nowhere near the transverse colon in the abdomen. We illustrated that the perforation was unrelated to the heart procedure. The jury found for the defense.
