Case Overview:

The patient had severe cardiac disease with a history of quadruple bypass. His two major coronary arteries had disease from 80-90% and total occlusion. With new symptoms presenting the patient went into a cardiac catheterization and it was discovered that one of the saphenous vein grafts from the aorta to the distal LAD was completely occluded. The other saphenous graft that ran from the aorta to the obtuse marginal branch was 30-50% occluded. This showed that there was stenosis of the grafts that were there to help bypass the original stenosis in the coronary arteries. Two days after they performed this catheterization the patient passed away. The jury found in favor of the defense.
