Case Overview:

A 66 year old man had an elective anterior cervical discectomy and fusion at C5-C6 and C6-C7. Post operatively a hematoma formed around the trachea and he had a cardio-respiratory arrest which lead to his death. The complication, though unfortunate, was a known complication of the procedure. The jury found in favor of the defense.
